Eunice Goundrey Frederick Memorial College Scholarship
Scholarship Application (Click Here)
The National Home Office, once again, will award a College Scholarship intended for a graduating high school senior, or a current college student, from the studio of any NADAA member in good standing planning to major in the Arts. The amount of the scholarship is undetermined at this time. In addition to the allotment provided from National Office for this award donations may be made to this fund if you wish to honor Eunice, our friend and colleague. Make your check payable to NADAA and send to the Home Office with a note indicating that it is to go to the scholarship fund.
As you will see on the application form, applicants are asked to submit an essay explaining “How NADAA and dance have affected my life” with the application with the primary focus of the essay on NADAA and not the applicant’s dance instructor. The essay should be 3-4 pages long, typewritten, and double-spaced. Applicants are asked not to list their name or instructor’s name anywhere within the essay. The selection of the winner will be based on the essay and the applicant’s involvement in NADAA. Only the bottom half of the application will be forwarded to the selection committee. The selection committee will consist of the National Board Members and the National Vice-Presidents. If any of these officers have students applying they will not be involved in the selection process.
Deadline for application is May 18th. The winner will be notified by mail in early June. There will also be an announcement of the winner made at the banquet at the Summer Greater NY #36 Convention in New Jersey. The winner does not have to be present in New Jersey to be eligible. If the winner were in attendance at convention, we would be delighted to have her/him perform a dance solo in the student review Conventions.
